Holy Communion

A table. A remembrance. A sacrifice that changed everything.

Remembrance

Do This In Remembrance of Me

Holy Communion is one of the most sacred moments New Hope Cathedral observes together. When the bread is broken and the cup is lifted, we are not performing a ritual — we are remembering a price. Christ's body, broken. Christ's blood, poured out. A covenant sealed once, for all, so that we could stand in right relationship with God.

Communion is periodically observed during our worship gatherings, and each time it's announced ahead of time through the bulletin and weekly announcements. When the moment comes, the whole room slows down. The music softens. The message steps back. And for a few quiet minutes, the focus of the entire house narrows to one thing — the cross.

This is not a moment for performance. It's a moment for honesty — a chance to examine your own heart, receive grace freely given, and remember that your standing before God was never earned. It was purchased. Whether you've walked with Christ for decades or you're still finding your footing, the table is a reminder that the invitation stands: He gave everything so we could come near.
